North of England Cardiovascular Network

Stroke - Area MapThe North of England Cardiovascular Network (NECVN) is a virtual ‘organisation’ made up of clinicians, managers and commissioners from primary care trusts, acute trusts, including tertiary care, and the ambulance services, who all work together to improve cardiac, stroke and vascular care for patients in the North of England.  The area covered includes a population of approximately 2.78 million people*.

The network is not a statutory organisation but relies on local NHS trusts for input and support to help progress a shared agenda; improving CHD, Stroke and Vascular services. The NECVN has a real potential to improve the way services are planned and delivered for patients and staff.

As well as details of our three work streams, CHD, Stroke and Vascular, this website also contains pages on the Network’s Patient and Public Involvement and Education and Training activity, as well as events be held by the Network, various publications and other service improvement projects.
